Welcome to Perle Oban

This is a unique building oozing with historical significance but filled with modern amenities. Originally called The Station Hotel, the building was finished in 1882 to welcome guests travelling on the newly completed west coast rail line.  We invite you to experience the history, the beauty and the serenity of Oban at your own pace – explore its dramatic shores and beautiful landscapes, relax in a quiet area with breath-taking views of the harbour.

Water

Oban tap water is exceptionally pure and can be drunk without any concern. Should you prefer, you will find bottles of both still and sparkling water in your room.

Hot Beverages

Your room is equipped with a kettle and a Nespresso machine. You have been provided with a selection of speciality teas, coffee and long-life milk. Please contact reception for a jug of fresh milk if you prefer.

For your enjoyment, we have provided each bedroom with Bose speakers:

These can be activated by the power button and selecting either for Bluetooth syncing or connecting an aux cable to listen to your device.

CHECK OUT

If you need to leave before 7.00 am on your day of departure, please advise reception no later than 9.30 pm the night before. Check-out on the day you depart is by 11.00 am unless prior arrangements have been made. Please take your room key to reception when you depart.

COTS

We have cots available if you need one please contact reception and we will deliver to your room.

FIRE ALARM TEST

Our weekly test of the fire alarm system will take place at 11 am every Monday.

If you hear the Fire Alarm, you must immediately evacuate:

  • Immediately go to the nearest Fire Exit. Do not stop to take your belongings. Keep calm and do not run. Evacuation routes from your room are mapped on the back of the door or immediately beside the door.
  • Assemble at the Fire Assembly Point, located at the front of the hotel.
  • Keep clear of the building and wait for the Emergency Services to arrive.

If you discover a FIRE:

  • If necessary, sound the alarm.
  • Follow the evacuation procedures above.
  • The Fire Exit doors and Fire Extinguishers in the corridors are to be used only in an emergency.

GREEN TOURISM 

We support Green Tourism. If you are staying for more than one night and are happy to re-use your towels, please hang them on the towel rail. If you prefer fresh towels, please leave those you have used on the floor, or in the shower tray.

HOUSEKEEPING

All of our laundries are washed at high temperatures.

If you do not wish to have your room serviced, please inform a member of our Reception Team.

NESPRESSO

You will also find a Nespresso coffee machine in your room – to use please follow the instructions below:

  • Fill the water holder at the back of the machine
  • Place the desired pod in the front of the machine using the lever at the top
  • Ensure cup is placed under the dispensing nozzle
  • Press desired cup size on the top on the machine, the smaller cup gives an intense espresso while the larger cup provides a long black coffee.
  • Add sugar and milk as desired and enjoy your coffee.

SMOKING & DAMAGES POLICY

In line with Scottish Law, Perle Oban is a strictly non-smoking establishment. Smoking within the building will incur a £250 fine. Any damages to the room and furniture caused by the guest will be investigated, and the value for replacing the damaged item or repairing the damage will be charged from the guest up to one month after the guest’s departure (minimum of £250.00).

External calls cannot be made directly from the telephones in the rooms.

Should you wish to make a call, please contact reception and give them the telephone number. They will dial the number for you and transfer the call to your room.

TOILETRIES 

For your comfort, we have provided a range of Highland Soap toiletries, should you require a dental kit, shaving kit or shower cap – please contact reception and we will have them delivered to your room.

The flat screen Tv’s in our rooms are equipped with freeview.

WI-FI

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

BUS

The City link bus runs daily to Glasgow, Inverness and Fort William. West Coast Motors offer services in and around Oban.

All buses depart from the stances opposite Perle Oban. The West Coast Motors tour shop is situated on the corner of the Perle Oban where you can book journeys and buy tickets.

The taxi rank in Oban is situated within walking distance from the front door of the hotel.

FLY

Flights from Oban Airport in Connel go to the Islands of Coll, Tiree, Islay and Colonsay.

SAIL 

Caledonian MacBrayne operate from the Ferry Terminal a short walk from the Perle Oban. You can visit most Atlantic Isles using this service. Car bookings can be pre-booked by contacting CalMac on: 0800 066 5000. Foot passengers are not required to book, but should arrive in good time before the vessel departing.
