Travelling to Oban on the west coast of Scotland is a joy. Around three hours by car, coach or train from Glasgow or Edinburgh and less than 2 hours from Stirling, the scenic journey is a memorable part of a visit to this bustling seaside town.
Oban is easily reached from Central Scotland by taking the A82 which skirts the west side of Loch Lomond. Then either via Tyndrum or follow the A83 over the ‘Rest and be Thankful’ through Inveraray. Both journeys take between 2 and 3 hours, although you may be tempted to stop several times to admire the scenery.
We are located on Station Road which means we are within walking distance from the train station, in fact, you will spot us as you walk through the station doors. There are regular direct trains from Glasgow Queen Street Station
If you are coming into Oban from the other islands, you will see Perle Oban as you embark off the ferry – you can be in your room within minutes.
Situated on Stevenson Street, the Rockfield Centre car park costs £5 per 24 hours or can be paid for hourly. There are around 40 spaces in this car park.
Situated on Corran Esplanade. The first 2 hours are free, thereafter £1.00 per hour between 8am-6pm Monday-Saturday. 1pm-6pm on Sunday. 0.2 miles from hotel.
Situated on Tweedale Street. Charges £1.00 per hour from 9am-6pm on Monday-Saturday and 1pm-6pm on Sunday. 0.1 miles from hotel.
Situated on Lochavullin Road. The first 2 hours are free, thereafter £1.00 for 3 hours, additional hours charged at £1.00 between 9am-6pm Monday-Saturday. 9.00am-06:00am on Sunday. 0.4 miles from hotel.
You can also park on the main streets. The maximum total stay time is 2 hours in the inner zone and 4 hours in the outer zone in any one spot. On street parking is free beyond the inner zone. Inner zone car streets are: Argyll Square, Queens Park Place, William Street, Corran Esplanade and George Street. Ticket machines are placed within easy reach. Free from 6pm-9am Monday – Saturday and 6pm-1pm on Sunday.
