THE ISLE OF SKYE’S THE BRACKEN HIDE HOTEL EXPANDS –

12 NEW HIDES ADDED FOR 2025

Opened in March 2023, The Bracken Hide Hotel, a four-star wilderness hotel based in the heart of the Isle of Skye, is increasing its accommodation offering with the introduction of 12 new Hides. The new additions, set to open in February 2025, will be the hotel’s most luxurious, enjoying prime position sitting at the peak of the hill with views across Loch Portree.  Designed by Malcolm Duffin Design, the 22sqm Hides will feature all the trappings of a hotel room with underfloor heating, air conditioning, ensuite shower rooms and seating inside and out. Six further Hides will follow later in 2025.

Set on the sprawling 52-acre site of the Old Portree Golf Course, the Bracken Hide Hotel connects guests with the magic of the island’s setting – with picture-perfect land and seascapes and an abundance of nature to enjoy. From February 2025, the new-look Bracken Hide will boast 39 Hides, all set in clusters across the rich and wild landscapes of the resort. Guests can expect complete privacy here, as well as a collection of inviting facilities. Don’t miss the opportunity to relax in the pair of Estonia saunas followed by a refreshing dip in the wild plunge pool.

Sitting snugly within the scenery is the main building – The Bracken, home to the hotel’s new restaurant, Am Braigh (meaning ‘on the hill’), a modern Scottish restaurant showcasing the best produce from Skye’s larder. Expect plenty of locally caught seafood on the menu, including grilled langoustines, Talisker whisky cured Skye salmon, double hand-dived Sconser scallops, Loch Eishort mussels and Highland oysters. There’s also The Snug, an intimate whisky and cocktail bar, and a Mezzanine Lounge.

The Bracken Hide Hotel provides a great base for exploring the Isle of Skye, being just a short walk from the isle’s capital Portree and within easy reach of the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing and the Fairy Pools.

Price: From £200 per night on B&B basis in one of the new Hides with The Bracken Hide (www.brackenhide.co.uk).
